Allison Lyndes

Since graduating with her degree in Theatre from the University of Vermont, milliner Allison Lyndes has created hats of all kinds. Her work ranges from theatrical to editorial, historical to futuristic, and from casual to formal. While impossible to fit her hats into a single category, all of her wearable art creations are bound by the common threads of her keen eye for detail, impeccable finishing, and imaginative mind for design. She is committed to continuing to research, explore, learn, and expand her proficiency throughout what she hopes will be a lifelong pursuit of millinery.

Allison currently creates hats in her home studio in Colorado. She frequently uses sustainable secondhand and unique material finds from flea markets, thrift stores, and attics all over the world to make her pieces truly one of a kind heirlooms. Many of her felt creations are also shaped with freeform techniques, adding to their individuality. She rarely makes the same hat twice, and always loves making something new.
