Masumi Yoneyama
I am a multidisciplinary artist creating functional and contemplative works from upcycled materials. I work with materials that have been weathered, overlooked, or set aside, shaping them into art that rises with intention, meaning, and renewal. Through a mindful, hands-on process—using upcycled bicycle parts, resin, and paper—I honor cycles of transformation and the quiet stories carried within each material. My practice is shaped by a multifaceted background in music, education, athletics, community-based work, and Japanese cultural traditions. Rooted in lived experience and careful making, my work offers a moment to pause and reflect, reminding us that what remains still holds purpose, presence, and possibility.
